Juice from 12 months

05.06.2024

Ukrainian legislation does not contain a direct ban or age restrictions on the introduction of juices into children's nutrition. Thus, you can often find the label "from 4+ months" on the shelves.

Instead, Galicia Baby is for children from 12 months. In our approach, we were based exclusively on modern achievements of evidence-based medicine and recommendations of authoritative international organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the British Public Health Service (NHS). In addition, the development was facilitated by cooperation with nutritionists and experts in child nutrition.

WHO* recommends breastfeeding exclusively up to 6 months with the subsequent introduction of complementary foods while maintaining breastfeeding up to 2 years and beyond.

AAP recommends exclusive breastfeeding up to approximately 6 months. For mothers who are not breastfeeding, infant formula provides complete nutrition without the need for additional nutrients.

There is no prohibition against giving fruit juice to infants under 6 months of age. However, there is a risk that juice will replace breast milk or formula. Water remains the primary drink for the baby.
